New Council Executives 2017

The National Executive Council of ICOBA successfully held its 2017 Annual General Meeting on Saturday 16, September 2017 at the Rev Angus Memorial Hall, Igbobi College, Yaba. It also held its bi-annual elections into the Council after the meeting.

The event, which marked the end of the first term in office of the Foluso Phillips-led administration, was well attended by Old Igbobians and was also broadcasted online live.

The meeting was preceded by the commissioning of three ICOBA projects - the newly renovated and furnished college Principal’s Office sponsored by the 6668 Set, the Igbobi College Reading & Book Club sponsored by the ICOBA 1987 set and the new Stage Lights for the College hall which was donated and installed by 6971 Set.

The President, Mr Foluso Phillips, highlighted the achievements of the Council over the past two years while cascading the immediate plans of the association for the immediate future. Reports of the Secretary general, Treasurer and Auditor were taken and adopted by the house before the council was dissolved to pave way for elections where some new members, Mr Femi Olubanwo, Mr Femi Soremekun and Mr Segun McMedal, were duly elected into a new council as 1st Vice President, 2nd Assistant Secretary General and Assistant Publicity Secretary respectively. Others officers returned to their positions unopposed.

The President, after being formally decorated with his new Insignia of Office which was sponsored by ICOBA 8486 set, congratulated the new council for “winning the confidence of the old boys of the college” and charged them about the huge task of redefining ICOBA once again and “pushing us to a new level of performance.”

Podcasts of the events are still available online on the association’s website www.icobainternational.org and on www.facebook.com/icobainternational. All reports presented at the meetings are also still available on line and can be downloaded also from the website via the News>Downloads tab.
